Dave and Brenda: Top Cloud Computing Stories for June

July 6, 2010 By brenda michelson

Apparently, our Top Cloud Computing Stories for May podcast was well-received, because David Linthicum invited me back to swap top stories for June.  Check out our podcast.

Actually, I should say “Dave, Brenda and Zephyr’s podcast”, because Zephyr was insistent on being heard.  I think he disagreed with one of my picks.

Anyway, after listening to the podcast, think about this:  What will be the ‘Tang’ of cloud computing?

On Dave Linthicum’s Podcast discussing top Cloud Computing Stories for May

June 1, 2010 By brenda michelson

Each time I do a podcast, I can’t help but wonder, “Did I sound as though I had a clue?  Or, like a rambling fool?”.  Well, I guess I exhibited somewhat of a clue on Dave Linthicum’s post Cloud Connect podcast, because he invited me back to discuss top cloud computing stories for May.  We recorded Friday morning, before I headed to the closing keynotes of IT Forum.

In choosing “top stories”, there weren’t any guidelines.  Just 3 cloud computing stories we found interesting or important for the month of May.  The only rule, was no sharing beforehand.

As for the results, we had one story in common, two mainstream stories (one each) and two wildcards (one each).  The format was fun, so we’ll do another at the end of June.

I haven’t listened to it, so I’m not sure if my brain freeze trying to find the word “cannibalize” is in, or on the cutting room floor.

To listen to the podcast (16 minutes or so), go here.

David Linthicum’s Cloud Computing Podcast: Dave and Brenda talk Cloud Connect

March 20, 2010 By brenda michelson

On Friday, David Linthicum invited me on his cloud computing podcast to chat about what we heard, and didn’t hear, at the Cloud Connect conference.  Naturally, our discussion wound its way to the connections of cloud computing, enterprise architecture, service-oriented architecture and data architecture.

Our podcast is Picking Apart Cloud Connect.  Check it out.

Dave Linthicum’s Real World SOA podcast with me

November 4, 2008 By brenda michelson

Last Monday, Dave Linthicum and I chatted about SOA futures for his Real World SOA podcast series.  Being a gracious host, Dave allows his guest to pick the topic.  My choice was the future of SOA, not from an infrastructure perspective, but from a solutions perspective.  You could say, I’m thinking of the future of S-O-A as services, outcomes and assemblies.

During our conversation, we touch on variety of topics including organizational issues (leadership, communication, education), portfolio management, business analysis, project managers, enterprise architecture platforms and — you guessed it — service design.

Check it out.  Thanks Dave!
